New Modelithics 3D geometry models

Specialist RF, microwave and millimetre-wave simulation model provider, Modelithics, has introduced a new set of full-wave EM capable 3D geometry models for TDK’s MHQ0402PSA surface mount chip inductor series. 

The model is now available as part of the Modelithics COMPLETE+3D Library for Ansys HFSS™. Individual 3D models are available from 0.4 to 22 nH and are validated against multi-substrate measured S-Parameters through 30 GHz and equivalent series resistance (ESR), as well as against the corresponding Modelithics CLR Global Circuit model.

TDK’s unique multi-layer manufacturing process enables Modelithics to create industry-leading RF components such as RF Inductors, filters, diplexers, triplexers, baluns and couplers with higher inductance and Q characteristics in small form factors. TDK's wire-wound technology uses high performing closed magnetic circuits with high permeability (μ) ferrite particles to enable lower Rdc values which reduce energy consumption. These components are designed for all types of high-frequency applications ranging from consumer electronics and mobile phones to the automotive industry.
